She thought it was rocking. Then she saw the numbers.

This Week's Message...

  • The one number a client found in six days that changed how she saw her entire business
  • The Margin Myth: why two services making the exact same revenue can be worth completely different amounts to you
  • What to go look at this week to find your own $750-an-hour service

She thought it was fine.

Not amazing. Not broken. Just fine, the way most 7-figure businesses feel from the inside once you've been running one for a few years and stopped looking too closely at the numbers behind the felt experience.

Six days later, she looked closely for the first time in a long time. And she said something to me on our call that I have not stopped thinking about since.

She and her husband run a mobile IV and weight loss business together, and I was inside their numbers for exactly six days. All I asked them to do at the start was find their real numbers. Where every referral truly comes from. What their close rate really is on their highest-volume service. What they keep, after every cost, on every single service they sell.

They came back to our next call with pages of it. Real referral sources, broken out by source instead of the usual blanket answer of "social media." A close rate on one of their weight loss services sitting at 48 percent (when they thought it was 90%). And one number neither of them had calculated before: what they keep, per hour, once every cost is out.

Her client pays $600 for a three month program. Her nurse gets paid $245 of that. What is left, after the fifteen-minute intake call that starts the whole relationship, is $188.

I asked her to run that fifteen minutes out across a full hour. Close to $750 an hour of margin, on one service, and she had never once looked at it that way.

She paused.

Then she said it. "I think we kind of had our heads in the sand thinking things were better than they were. It's not that they were bad. We just thought it was rocking, and now we're realizing maybe it's not so rocking."

Read that again.

Nothing in their business was broken. It was unmeasured. And unmeasured feels exactly like fine, right up until you finally look.

Nobody teaches you this once you cross seven figures. You already know your revenue number. You can probably say it in your sleep.

What almost nobody running a service business knows is their profit per hour, broken down service by service.

Most owners think growth means more clients, more calls, more hours in the day. I call this the Margin Myth, and it is one of the first things I install with every client inside the Simply Rich Business Experience. Growth is not a volume problem. It is a margin problem wearing a volume costume.

Here is the reframe. Two services can produce the exact same revenue and be worth completely different amounts to you. One eats three hours of your team's time for every dollar it produces. The other eats fifteen minutes. If you cannot tell me which is which across your entire service list, you are filling your calendar with the wrong ten services instead of the right three.

This is exactly what surfaced with my client this week. She had a lower-priced service that felt like the safer sell because it converted more easily. Once we ran the actual math, the higher-priced service was paying her nearly double, per hour, for a fraction of the ongoing effort. Same team. Same fifteen minutes on the phone. Completely different math.

Small margin gains compound in a way revenue never does.

A 1% shift in where your referrals come from was worth 10 people back when you were doing $100,000 a year. At $1M, that same 1% is worth 100.

The stakes did not rise because you grew. They rose because the math never got rebuilt to match the size of the business you actually built.

Six days. That is all it took for this client to find her real close rate, her real referral sources, and the true profit per hour on every service she offers.

SIX DAYS IN

Real referral sources, by name
48% close rate on her top weight loss service
Exact profit margin on every service she sells
Zero of it was a crisis

All of it had just never been measured.

None of the numbers were a crisis. All of them had been sitting there, unmeasured, this whole time. That is what the first ninety days of the 16-Hour Owner System is built to do. Not fix everything at once. Just get you looking at the numbers that were always there, so you stop making 7-figure decisions off a gut feeling built for a 6-figure business.

1️⃣If you are bringing in real revenue but could not tell me your profit per hour by service if I asked you right now, this is your room.

2️⃣If two of your services are producing the same top-line number and wildly different math behind them, this is your room.

3️⃣If you have said some version of "I think it's fine, I just haven't looked closely" in the last month, this is your room.

Inside the Simply Rich Business Experience, this is where we start. Not with more hustle. Not with a new service. With the real numbers, so every decision after that comes from data instead of a guess dressed up as confidence.

If you are generating consistent revenue around the million-dollar mark and you are quietly the reason your business still runs, book a complimentary Scale Strategy Session and let's find your $750-an-hour service.

🌴💸P.S. My client is already back in her numbers this week, chasing down 40 of her old no's to see how many were a timing problem instead of a real no. Somewhere in your business is a number exactly like that one, sitting there, waiting for you to look at it.
