Dear Entrepreneur,
Every summer, something predictable happens.
Women in business start talking about "unplugging."
Taking a step back. Slowing the content. Letting things breathe.
And listen — I am a full-blown summer girl who grew up boating. I moved from Massachusetts to Florida specifically to be in the warm ☀️weather year round. I am not here to tell you to grind through July like it's Q4.
But I am here to tell you something the 2% of women who hit $1M figured out a long time ago.
Million-dollar businesses are not built by doing all the things.
They are built by doing the things that matter most — consistently.
Here is the mindset shift I want to offer you today:
Most women unplug in the summer. The 2% plug in to the right things.
There is a difference.
I was not always confident in being different.
Growing up, I was a 5'10" redhead who was extremely shy. And if you know anything about being tall and a little unusual, you know that standing out is not always celebrated in middle school. I got picked on... a lot. And there were a lot of tears.
But in the 8th grade, something shifted.
I realized that the very thing people were noticing about me — the thing that made me different — was actually a superpower. Not something to run from. Something to lean into.
That principle has carried me through my entire business life.
When everyone said don’t buy a franchise, I said sign me up. And that contrarian instinct is a big part of how I unknowingly joined the 2% of women entrepreneurs who cross the million-dollar mark.
So when I see women in business all doing the same thing — quietly coasting through summer — my instinct is to ask:
What does the 2% do instead?
Here is what I have found.
Million-dollar businesses are not built by doing all the things.
They are built by doing your IPAs — your Income Producing Activities — consistently.
IPAs are the 2 to 3 actions that directly move the needle. The things that produce inquiries, consults, and clients. Not the busy work. Not the planning. The actual needle-movers.
When I had my franchise, my primary IPA was visiting referral sources in the community to stay front of mind. My secondary was following up with every inquiry in my pipeline. When we did those consistently, revenue followed. When I pulled my salesperson off the road for even a week or two to help with scheduling or client care…
I felt that bad decision 90 days later when inquiries went quiet.
The lag is always 90 days. And summer is exactly long enough to create one.
Inside my coaching business, I have my Power Hour that I have been executing daily since 2018 when a coach taught it to me. Five days a week, I spend one focused hour posting on social, engaging with my community, and looking for ways to serve more business owners with my free resources or paid programs.
That is it. One hour. Monday through Friday.
But done consistently? It compounds.
When I miss a day or two or longer, I feel it 90 days later guaranteed.

But before you do, take some time today to identify your 2 to 3 IPAs. The specific actions that directly produce inquiries and clients in your business. Then commit to doing only those, Monday through Friday, all summer long.
Come Labor Day, I can almost guarantee your business will have grown more than any summer before it.
Not because you did more.
Because you finally did the right things in the right order.
