Why Create a Morning Routine?

Is it just me or is waking up in the morning such a challenge at times?

You hear all these gurus and professionals that say you should get up at 4 or 5am…

Hello, I am not a morning person!

So you set a goal, I’m going to become a morning person and you get out of bed at 4 or 5am or whatever time that guru tells you to do and you make it day one, day 2 but by day 3 you’re exhausted and you’re done with this habit!

And then the worst thing of all happens you feel like crap for quitting!

So let me share with you what I did as a non morning person to make my own morning routine!

Right now in this day and age we have so much info available at our fingertips that we can find an answer to anything with a quick Google search.

However, you may never find the answer because you get lost down the Google rabbit hole and then look up and an hour has gone by and you might not even remember what it is you were searching for!

Sound familiar?

You are NOT alone! 

This is why I took all of the information from all of the gurus and the experts and the professionals and the successful people and I put it together into a routine that worked for me as a non morning person and now I am sharing it with you!

Before we get to the actual routine, let me review the Top 5 Benefits of why all those groups of people swear by and use a morning routine daily!

Listen up because I was shocked to realize how a simple daily routine could help with these things inside my business!

Creating a morning routine can have many benefits for both your personal life and your business. Here are five potential benefits:

  1. Increased productivity: Establishing a consistent morning routine can help you start your day with a clear sense of purpose and direction, making it easier to focus on your priorities and get more done throughout the day.
  2. Reduced stress: A well-designed morning routine can help you manage stress and anxiety by incorporating activities like meditation, exercise, or journaling that promote mindfulness and relaxation.
  3. Improved physical health: By incorporating exercise or healthy eating habits into your morning routine, you can improve your overall physical health and energy levels, which can help you be more effective in both your personal and professional life.
  4. Enhanced creativity: Taking time to do something creative, such as writing or drawing, can help stimulate your imagination and promote innovative thinking, which can be beneficial for entrepreneurs and other professionals who rely on creativity.
  5. Better time management: By establishing a consistent morning routine, you can make better use of your time by planning and prioritizing your tasks, which can help you stay on track throughout the day and avoid wasting time on less important activities.

Now let’s get into the nitty gritty of building you a morning routine that will help you live your life and grow your business at the same time!

Step 1 - Start with some quiet time

This could be prayer or meditation, it’s your choice!  It doesn’t have to be for long, just maybe 2-3 minutes to calm your mind and bring you into focus!

Step 2 - Review your Vision

This is the secret to staying laser focused in your business!  When you review your vision each and every day, there is no shiny object syndrome, because you can easily make daily decisions based on this vision that you have set!

Step 3 - Review Your Goals

Your goals should be based on your vision!  Do not steal someone else’s goal because it sounds exciting. Most likely it will not work as well for you because you are not identical and have many different variables in your life and business!

Step 4 - Your 3 Daily IPAs

Your vision serves as your North Star. Your goals are the guides to keep you on track!  Your 3 Daily Income Producing Activities are the habits you form to make the action happen in your business!  These are the non-negotiables that you WILL do today, no matter what!  When you commit to doing these, you will go to bed each night feeling a sense of accomplishment, because the MOST important tasks got done!

Step 5 - Read Your Affirmations

Whether you believe these work or not, just try them for 90 days!  Affirmations help to reprogram your negative thoughts by repeating them daily.  You can Google affirmations to find ones that you resonate with!

Step 6 - Grow

Building a business is NOT easy! I missed this critical step during the first 5 years, so don’t be like me!  You need to work on yourself daily by reading personal development books, listening to podcasts or participating in retreats.  Do something to become that better person who can then help more people!

Finally Step 7 - Expand Your Expertise

If you want to be seen and touted as an industry leader, then you need to keep learning!  You can do this by reading books, listening to business podcasts, attending workshops, and joining masterminds!  Just like the quote by William S. Burrows says, “When you stop growing, you start dying.”  And your death could be the death, of your business!  You as a leader, entrepreneur and woman, need to stay current so you can pivot as needed in your business!

Creating a morning routine is not absolutely necessary in building a successful business!  But if you want your journey to be easier, better, and faster, I highly suggest you try this business building strategy that the gurus, professionals, and successful entrepreneurs swear by!  Don’t just take my or their world for it, give it a try for yourself for 90 days, then decide for yourself, if it works for you!
